After numerous years dealing with Yazaku pirates, Duke Bryce of House Robinmere expressed his desire to invade the Yazaku reef and claim the isles for his domain. He first consuLted with his vassals - namely the Scion of the Sea, the Marquis of Sea Reach. Lord Aymon was initially hesitant despite his trade routes being occasionally attacked by pirates. But word also reached his ears of his elven allies having skirmishes with the Yazaku pirates. After discussions on the matter progressed, it was announced that Lord Hue from House Sarralon would be leading the assault. He was friend of Duke Bryce as well as Lord Aymon. This choice pleased the Lord of Sea Reach and in turn decided to support the duke with this endeavor. Once Lord Aymon agreed, the undecided lords came forth to lend their armies and resources.

Conquest of Yazaku Reef

The Valencour fleet landed on two of the five isles. The remainder of the fleet postioned themselves around the reef and formed a blockade. Within two months, Lord Hue's armies claimed the Horoka and Yama isles. After reorganizing his forces, his army attacked the isle of Tashiro where the largest and best fortified city stood. Prince Nakata ruled the Yazaku Reef and had prepared for a siege when the Valencour army first arrived. For five months, the armiesof Valencour besieged the town until a breach was made upon its southern wall. Prince Nakata led the desperate defenses but to no avail. The battle-hardened army overwhelmed Tashiro's forces, killing both Nakata and his son during the engagement. With three of the islands defeated, terms of surrender were offered to the remaining isles. Okuda and Tawara agreed to the terms. House Isamu, who ruled Okuda, would be allowed to retain his station in return for his fealty. The isle of Tawara, ruled by House Yori, had one female heir which would have to be married to a Lyshoran lord. House Yori would continue to rule Tawara until that daughter came of age to marry.

Lord Hue of House Sarralon was awarded the title Overseer of the Yazaku Reef - a duke in his own right, but still a vassal to the Duke of Valencour.
